Our dog's name is Galina. She's a golden retriever/yellow lab mix. We adopted her from the Humane Society in November of 2007. We think she's about a year old. Galina is a Russian girl's name, but it also is the Spanish word for "hen" (gallina). Our Galina is the biggest chicken ever. She's afraid of the dishwasher, flower pots rocking in the wind, and our neighbor's children jumping on their trampoline--she doesn't know what to make of heads popping up over the fence. We are trying to teach her that she doesn't have to be afraid of everything new, and she is slowly learning not to be so fearful. Our 4-year-old son loves telling everyone that our dog's name means "chicken" in Spanish.

how cute (the dog too)!
