This is my Precious Melissa. I call her Missy but had intended to call her Minnie after the Minnie Me character in the movie about 8 years ago. I had a 9 year old Am-Staff that weighed in near 100 lbs and her name was Good Big Maxine or Maxi for short. They were both brindle and very sweet.
Precious Melissa is the cleanest dog on earth. For some strange reason, she carries no musky odor common to most animals. She actually smells sweet. It's very strange.
Missy has never slept alone since she came to live with me at about 6-7 weeks old. The person I got her from told me how he had rescued her after seeing a 'gangster' type throw her into the bed of his pickup. I'm guessing she was the runt and would be too small for pit fighting. The man who rescued her quickly realized he could not keep the dog in his apartment as pets ere not allowed. I happened to see the two of them playing on the lawn outside my bank and mentioned I had one that looked just like his, only this was about 9 years ago. He responded by asking "Do you want her?" This was about three months after my other four legged friend had to be put down at 15.5 years (to the day). We exchanged info and met later after he weighed his options. Ever since (except one night at the vet's office when she was spayed) Precious Melissa sleeps in the bed with me.

So glad that she found a good home. So many morally bankrupt people ruin doggies in an effort to be "gangsta", creating vicious monsters that will attack anything on sight. So glad to know that, at least in this case, there was a happy ending.
