Submitted by beckhart on May 27, 2008 - 11:24pm.

Peter H. Gregory, CISA, CISSP, DRCE, author of over nineteen books, on computer security and technology, will be publishing book number twenty by the end of this year. Considering that Gregory just turned fifty, that is quite the milestone!

Gregory studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Nevada in the 1970s. His career path included positions in operations, programming, software engineering and application architecture. He spent several years in the wireless industry in IT and security management positions. By the time writing opportunities presented themselves, Gregory was in the right place at the right time, having been in the forefront of security and risk management. He got his start when a colleague asked him to review her manuscript back in 1995.

With Gregory's uncanny sense of humor, he was the perfect fit for Wiley's For Dummies series. Gregory's titles include Spam and Spyware for Dummies, Computer Viruses for Dummies, and IT Disaster Recovery for Dummies. He also writes articles for BusinessWeek, Computerworld, and Software Magazine and lectures at various events and seminars.

Currently Gregory is on the Board of Directors for Infragard, the Board of Advisors and a lecturer at the University of Washington, on the Advisory Board for SearchSecurity, on the Executive Steering Board for the SecureWorld Expo Conference, and is the founding member of the Pacific CISO Forum, just to name a few. He is also the founder and moderator of several online communities, including: CISA Forum, Certified CISA, CISM Forum, Security+ Forum, Patch Management Strategies, Security Strategies, Privacy Strategies, WLTG Alumni, Western Wireless IT Alumni.

Gregory currently works as a data security and risk manager at a financial software solutions company in the Seattle area, in addition to his writing career. He and his wife live in the greater Seattle area. Gregory says he intends to practice P.I. work...in his spare time!
