I get tired of people saying the NW is "fair weather". Everyone is a fair weather fan. Ask your pal from Nebraska about firing a coach because he only won 9 games. People are showing up to games now, but let them win 1 or 0 games in a season and see how it goes.

Husky Stadium hasn't been at 100%, but there are still a lot of people going to games. It took the Seahawks moving to Anaheim to bring that train to a halt, and it's back on track. The M's still draw very well, and they are horrible. The Sonics never had attendance issues, either.

I've been to games elsewhere and never had problems buying tickets, even at Wrigley. The "hottest ticket in town" is a myth. You can always find affordable tickets which means that people aren't always at capcity. No difference between fan bases except for what the talking heads in the booth say there is, and they'll say anything for a story.

I have a friend who moved here from Nebraska. He can't understand why sports fans in general are so whiny and "fair weather fans." They love their teams in the midwest and support them through good and bad times. Here, all I see is internet trolls who in reality couldn't coach a rubber duck if they had to, but they sure have no limits on their negativity. Seattle area people are spoiled rotten and don't realize how good they've got it.

At least Husky Football will be interesting next season. The coach is young and still developing, so let's give the dude a chance before getting all disillusioned in the first 30 minutes...
(Besides, it's only football.)

And why should I care except for the fact that he is being paid with taxpayers money?

USC has a ton of talent and recruiting, take that away and I see mediocrity. Pat Hill had a proven record but he wasn't PC, he had an attitude, oh no! Lets face it we'll never get back to the early 90's.

Here's an interesting idea: for each Pac 10 team, take away the coach with the best and worst winning record. Now compare the teams. Wow, that leaves the Huskies near the bottom consistently since the 60's. This new coach probably will be just as mediocre as all those others.

But, if you just compare the records straight up for the thirty years before the last five, the Huskies had the BEST record in the conference, with USC second...

Wasn't it a USC Athletic Director that started the multimillion dollar coaches slide to oblivion.
Where's Mike Price?
Where's Alabama?
Why is winning so expensive - oh I forgot we're not winning!
